Bring Fictional Characters to Life

We used OpenAI and Azure Cognitive Services to create an engine that produces dynamic and believable NPCs with custom personality and communicate with it using free language, easily implemented in games.

We only had 4 days to create the Unity demo. In my role as design lead I was responsible for tech art, UI design, environment design, animations and 3D modeling. Of course, for the short time we had to use ready-made environment assets, but everything still had to go through a lot of editing to fit our narrative – like creating specific characters such as Harry Potter and Voldemort, for example.

This Hackathon project was some of the most fun I had in my time at Microsoft because I got the chance to collaborate with brilliant developers on gaming technology, which I'm most passionate about. :)
